Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) is slated to host Iranian short film ‘Najan’.

The film directed by Mohammad-Mehdi Baqeri will vie at the International section of the 2022 edition of the event.

‘Najan’ narrates the story of a deaf boy who goes into a forest with his brother to see a tree that is said to fulfill wishes.

Abolfazl Qorbanzade, Sanyar Rafieipour, Fariborz Mansouri and Arsalan Mohammad-Beigi star in the film.

Last year, TISFF has been inscribed on the list of Oscar-qualifying film festivals.

Organized by the Iranian Youth cinema Society, the TISFF is one of the oldest short film festivals in Iran and the region.

The TISFF is a member of the International Short Film Conference (ISFC), according to the festival’s website.

The 39th edition of the festival, headed by Mahdi Azarpendar, will take place on October 19-24.
